2018 Vision Design Awards - Apr 2018

In its ninth year, the annual Vision Design Awards draw architecture and design firms from across North America. Unique and innovative projects are submitted to be judged based primarily on the integration of the flooring into the overall space design. The grand prize winner for this year came from the corporate category, with an additional winner and honorable mention from each of the four categories.

The entries are stripped of all product and firm names so that they can be judged based solely on the merit of the design. Regardless of brand or type of flooring, any project may be entered. Our sponsors-Bentley Mills, Crossville and Tarkett-have supported this blind-jury concept since the competition’s inception in 2010.

Shashi Caan of the Shashi Caan Collective, who has participated every year, as well as Andrew Wolfram, principal of TEF Design in San Francisco, and Helene Gregoire, associate designer with BCJ in San Francisco, made up the panel of independent judges.

The winning designs will be celebrated in San Francisco, California from September 7 to 9 by the designers, jury members, representatives of the sponsor companies and Floor Focus.

Congratulations to all winners! Floor Focus will begin accepting entries for next year’s awards starting in January 2019.
