Holcim Acquires Fermacell

Zug, Switzerland, August 21, 2026—Holcim has entered into an agreement to acquire Fermacell from James Hardie Industries. 

Fermacell is an established European provider of sustainable walling and flooring solutions. It offers high-performance fiber gypsum and cement-bonded boards and is home to brands such as Fermacell and Aestuver.

The acquisition expands Holcim’s offering in European walling, flooring and fire protection.

Holcim is a Swiss multinational building materials company. It produces cement, ready-mix concrete, aggregates and advanced building solutions, operating in roughly 45 countries.
