Adairsville, GA, August 12, 2026—CFL Flooring (Creative Flooring Solutions) announced that the European Patent Office (EPO) has granted patent EP 3907349, a direct continuation of CFL’s earliest European SPC patent first filed in 2016—marking ten years since CFL pioneered the rigid-core technology now known worldwide as SPC.
“When we filed our first SPC patent in 2016, who knew that we were defining a product category that has since become one of the fastest-growing segments in flooring worldwide?” said Thomas Baert, president & co-founder of CFL. “Mostly, we’re humbled by how far this whole category has come, and proud of the team that has carried us here over the past ten years. We prefer to let our products speak for themselves, but a milestone like this is a nice moment to remember where SPC began—and the part CFL played in inventing it.”
The grant solidifies CFL’s portfolio, following the company’s recent announcement of the development, patenting and launch of a new enhanced bevel technology for SPC, WPC, and other hybrid floors.
