Orders for Durable Goods Down Again

Washington, DC, June 23, 2015—New orders for durable goods fell 1.8% in May, according to the Commerce Department. This marks the third drop in four months and comes on the heels of April’s revised 1.5% decline.

Durable goods is a gauge of U.S. business investment spending, and May’s report indicates that investment remains subdued.
