BASF Plans Polyurethane Component Plant in China


Chongqing, China, March 25, 2011 —  BASF said it has received approval for a plant in Chongqing to produce 400,000 metric tons per year of MDI (diphenylmethane diisocyanate).

The investment will total approximately $1.2 billion. The facility, which will produce a core component mainly used for polyurethane foams, is expected to start up by 2014.
