Economists See Flat Home Prices in 2011

Madison, NJ, Dec. 23, 2010 — Home prices may not appreciate much in 2011, according to a survey of economists and housing analysts by MacroMarkets LLC.

Economists expect home prices to edge down by 0.17% in 2011 as measured by the S&P/Case-Shiller index.

Overall, economists forecast that home prices will rise by 7.2% by the end of 2014. In May, that forecast called for a 12% rise in prices over the span.
