Consumer Confidence Falls in January

Washington, DC, Jan. 29, 2013 — Consumer confidence in January fell more than forecast, according to the Conference Board.

Confidence hit the lowest level in more than a year, measuring 58.6, down from a revised 66.7 in December.

The 8.1-point decline from a month earlier was the biggest since August 2011.
