Factory Orders Up in February

Washington, DC, April 4, 2007–Factory orders rose 1.0% in February, reaching a two-month high, according to a report from the Commerce Department.  

 Orders for new civilian aircraft rose by 88.4% following a drop of 60.4% in January.

Orders for factory goods excluding transportation equipment were off by 0.4% in February.

Economists had forecast an increase in 1.8% in March.
