Fort Mill, SC, October 27, 2006–Wellman Inc reported a wider third-quarter loss on Thursday, citing disappointing results after raising prices and a charge related to closing an operation.
The company posted a net loss of $39.2 million, or $1.23 per share, for the quarter ended Sept. 30, compared with a net loss of $8.9 million, or 28 cents per share, for the same period in 2005.
