Distrib. Trade Sales & Manu. Shipments Down 0.1% in March

Washington, DC, May 15, 2024-The combined value of distributive trade sales and manufacturers’ shipments for March was estimated at $1,858.0 billion, down 0.1% from February 2024 and was up 2.1% from March 2023, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Manufacturers’ and trade inventories for Marchwere estimated at an end-of-month level of $2,539.0 billion, down 0.1% from February 2024 and were up 0.7% from March 2023.

The total business inventories/sales ratio based on seasonally adjusted data at the end of March was 1.37. The March 2023 ratio was 1.39.
