
Washington, DC, April 25, 2024-In the week ending April 20, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 207,000, a decrease of 5,000 from the previous week’s unrevised level of 212,000, according to the Department of Labor. The four-week moving average was 213,250, a decrease of 1,250 from the previous week’s unrevised average of 214,500.
The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate was 1.2% for the week ending April 13, unchanged from the previous week’s unrevised rate. The advance number for seasonally adjusted insured unemployment during the week ending April 13 was 1,781,000, a decrease of 15,000 from the previous week’s revised level. The previous week’s level was revised down by 16,000 from 1,812,000 to 1,796,000. The four-week moving average was 1,794,000, a decrease of 7,250 from the previous week’s revised average. The previous week’s average was revised down by 4,000 from 1,805,250 to 1,801,250.
