Distributor Sales & Manufacturer Shipments Flat in February

Washington, DC, April 14, 2023-The combined value of distributive trade sales and manufacturers’ shipments for February was estimated at $1,817.9 billion, virtually unchanged from January 2023 but was up 3.3% from February 2022, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Manufacturers’ and trade inventories for February were estimated at an end-of-month level of $2,471.6 billion, up 0.2% from January 2023 and were up 9.1% from February 2022.

The total business inventories/sales ratio based on seasonally adjusted data at the end of February was 1.36. The February 2022 ratio was 1.29.
