Wholesale Inventories Increase in April

Washington, DC, June 11, 2013 --  Wholesalers increased their inventories in April as sales rebounded from a big decline in March, according to the Commerce Department.

The government said Tuesday that stockpiles at the wholesale level rose 0.2% in April after a 0.3% gain in March.
Sales in April rose 0.5%, after a plunge 1.4% in March.

April's number included solid gains of furniture and lumber, two signs of the improving housing and renovation markets.
