Tandus Centiva Removes Moisture Testing

Dalton, GA, Sept. 11, 2013 -- Tandus Centiva said it has removed the moisture-testing requirement for most Powerbond cushion installations using #54 Seam Weld or C-XL Water Based Seam Sealer.

Testing is no longer required as long as no free liquids are present and no moisture stained concrete is evident.

However, pH testing will be required for all installations and must be 9.0 or less.

If there are free liquids or moisture stained concrete, a full assessment of the concrete substrate will be required.

Thousands of Powerbond cushion installations have performed well over high moisture floors, the company said, so the tests aren't needed.

Also, Powerbond and modular styles with nylon face fiber will be covered by a non-prorated Lifetime Limited Warranty against excessive surface wear, edge ravel, zippering, resiliency loss of backing, and delamination of the secondary backing from the primary backing containing the face fiber.
