
Washington, DC, June 26, 2014 — Personal spending rose a seasonally adjusted 0.2% in May from April, according to the Commerce Department.
The rise was due to higher prices and came after a flat reading of spending in April.
Adjusted for inflation, spending declined.
In addition, personal income rose 0.4% in May, marking five straight months of gains.
