Molyneaux Offering Credit to Customers Stiffed by Competing Firm

Cranberry Township, PA, February 17, 2017—Pittsburgh-based Molyneaux Tile Carpet Wood has stepped in to offer a credit to customers who had paid for services from another local flooring business that shut its doors unexpectedly, reports WTAE.

Approximately 20 people in Butler and Beaver have complained to police that they paid Steel City Flooring to complete work that was unfinished when the company closed its doors due to “a general downturn in business and a large apartment job that ‘stiffed’ the company for $800,000,” according to the company’s attorney, Jesse White.

White reports that there was “never any intent to defraud anyone” and says that

Steel City Flooring will be filing for bankruptcy sometime within the next week. According to White, Jason Muller, owner of Steel City Flooring, has been trying to make contact with the customers who are owed money, but White said it’s not clear how much money they might be able to recoup.
