Mohawk Group to Unveil Smartflower Solar System at NeoCon

Chicago, IL, June 11, 2018-During NeoCon, Mohawk Group will join Groundswell and other project partners in south Chicago to unveil a Smartflower solar system.

Attendees will see a demonstration of the technology and learn how the partnership will bring the benefits of solar energy and new educational opportunities to the Bronzeville community. During a brief program-which will take place June 13 from 8:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at The Renaissance Collaborative (3757 S. Wabash Avenue, Chicago)-Mohawk Group and Groundswell will unveil the first of ten Smartflower systems that will be established across the U.S. as part of the launch and certification of five new products. The event will include an on-site demonstration.

WHY: The goal of the partnership is to bring the benefits of clean solar energy to communities of concern and to educational institutions with STEM programs. Mohawk Group is sponsoring the program as a “handprinting” strategy for the Living Product Challenge Petal Certification of five new carbon-neutral flooring products that will launch next week at NeoCon. Later this year, additional smartflower systems will be installed in New York, Washington and Eden, North Carolina.
