Initial Jobless Claims Rise from Five-Year Low

Washington, DC, Jan. 31, 2013 -- Initial claims for unemployment benefits rose last week, according to the Labor Department.
 
The number of applications rose 38,000 from the previous week's five-year low to a seasonally adjusted 368,000.

The four-week moving average showed only a small increase of 250 to 352,000 from a five-year low hit last week.
