House Prices Rise in January

New York, NY, March 4, 2014 -- U.S. house prices rose in January, according to real estate data firm CoreLogic.

That interrupted three straight months of declines.

CoreLogic says prices rose 0.9% in January after falling 0.1% in December. Over the past 12 months, home prices have risen 12%, the biggest year-over-year increase in more than eight years.

Home prices nationwide are still 17% below the April 2006 peak, CoreLogic said.
