Home Depot Names Two New Board Members

Atlanta, GA, July 22--Home Depot announced the appointment of Lawrence "Larry" R. Johnston, chairman of the board, CEO and president of Albertson's, Inc., and Laban "Labe" P. Jackson Jr., chairman and CEO of Clear Creek Properties, Inc., to its board of directors. This brings the number of directors on the board to 12. "Larry Johnston's success in leading a large retail business in a highly competitive environment will benefit our company greatly. His experience at Albertson's and strong track record at GE are a powerful combination," said Bob Nardelli, chairman, president & CEO of The Home Depot. "Labe Jackson's distinguished business background brings us additional expertise in financial services, real estate and technology, areas that are critical to our success," Nardelli added. Before joining Albertson's in 2001, Larry Johnston spent 28 years with General Electric Co. His last assignment was as president and CEO of GE Appliances, a multi-billion dollar global business. Labe Jackson currently serves as chairman and CEO of Clear Creek Properties, Inc., a real estate development company in Lexington, KY. Jackson serves as a director and chairman of the Audit Committee of J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. He also served as a director and chairman of the Audit Committee of Bank One from 1993 until its merger with J.P. Morgan Chase in 2004. Mr. Jackson is also a director of IPIX Corporation.
