Coverings Announces Tiny House Design & Install Challenge

Orlando, FL, February 17, 2017—Three designers take on a diminutive challenge at Coverings 2017 Installation Design Showcase (IDS): install tile in three tiny homes, live on the showroom floor.

NTCA 5-Star Contractor collaborators Welch Tile, Visalia Ceramic Tile and J&R Tile have been paired with designers Lauren Figueroa of The Georgia Pear Interiors; Kim Lewis, founder of Kim Lewis Designs; Nikki Vega, owner and principal designer at bluetreehome to design tiny homes and have the tile installed throughout Coverings.

Each house will highlight a different design aesthetic.

On April 6 at 3:00 p.m., there will be an Installation Design Showcase Deconstructed session where participants will hear from the designers and installers about the types of tiles selected from sponsors, including Florim, Ceramics of Italy and Crossville, and why the thought process behind the designs and the installation techniques.

These houses aren’t just for show. Adam Money, developer of Orlando Lakefront, a tiny home community, is incorporating the homes into his Lakefront Bed & Breakfast.
