Chilewich Replaces Plasticizers w/ Vegetable Compounds

New York, NY, March 9, 2018-In the last few years, Chilewich has made significant environmental strides to replace the petroleum-based plasticizers in our yarns with phthalate-free, renewable vegetable compounds.

We call these yarns and the fabrics made from them TerraStrand.

Containing 25% renewable vegetable content, TerraStrand is used in 90% of all our woven products, including flooring, wall textiles, window coverings and upholstery.

All of our woven products also have a long lifecycle and can be washed with water and bio-degradable detergents, helping customers reduce both energy use and costs, all while maintaining an elegant aesthetic.
