Armstrong Raising Hardwood Prices

Lancaster, PA, March 26, 2013 -- Armstrong said it will raise prices 10% in the U.S. and Canada on all solid, engineered and wood trim products, effective May 13.

“There has been an unprecedented 40% increase in lumber since the end of 2012, which we forecast will stay at historic highs into 2014," said Kevin Biedermann, senior vice president, Armstrong Residential Floor Products.

"This raw material increase is much higher than anyone has anticipate.”

Armstrong raised prices on solid hardwood by a similar amount in March.
