Aquafil Now Listed on the Italian Stock Exchange

Milan, IT, December 12, 2017-Aquafil is now listed on the Italian Stock Exchange.

The landing at Piazza Affari, Star segment, marks the beginning of a new future for the company that has its heart in Trentino, Italy but is present in the world with 15 plants.

The number of Aquafil plants is destined to increase very quickly, given that the goal of the stock quotation is to increase the development of the Econyl waste regeneration project in rapid steps. In fact, within about six years, Aquafil wants to be producing only Econyl yarns made from the regeneration of nylon waste, which today represents 35% of the group’s entire production. The objective is therefore 100% sustainable Econyl yarn and a 100% circular economy. A lot will be done in the recycling of old carpets, as well as fishing nets, to produce only the “circular” yarn, so loved by the fashion world.

The buzzword therefore is “acquisitions”: strategic purchase of companies “that allow the application of technology for the production of Econyl fiber,” explained Aquafil’s CEO Giulio Bonazzi on the sidelines of the listing ceremony. “The hope is to do the operations already within the first half of 2018. Public offering is an instrument to grow.”

Bonazzi was present at Palazzo Mezzanotte with his wife and two sons as well as numerous guests of excellence, including many representatives of the financial world and also of fashion world, a sector that has already chosen the Econyl yarns for sustainable collections as is evidenced by more than 170 consumer brands.
