Wood Imports to China Decreased in 2012

Seattle, WA, December 11, 2012--Log and lumber imports to China were down 19% during the first eight months of 2012, year over year, totaling $4.3 billion, according to Wood Resource Quarterly.

By volume, log imports were down 17%, and lumber imports were down 5%. 

Log imports from the U.S. and Russia saw the greatest reduction, and lumber from North America fell as well.
