White Oak Carpet to Expand Operations in Spindale, NC

Spindale, NC, July 1, 2015—White Oak Carpet Mills, a division of CAP Carpet, will invest $4.1 million to expand its operations in Spindale, North Carolina, according to Area Development Online.

The company plans to create 40 new jobs over the next three years.

The project was made possible in part by a performance-based grant from the One North Carolina Fund of up to $25,000. The One NC Fund provides financial assistance through local governments to attract business projects that will stimulate economic activity and create new jobs in the state. Companies receive no money up front and must meet job creation and investment performance standards to qualify for grant funds.

In addition, the North Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority has awarded Rutherford County a Building Reuse Program grant in the amount of $300,000 to support the reuse of a 250,000 square feet building located at 1553 Old Ballpark Road in Spindale. The building was constructed in 1973 and has been vacant for more than five years. White Oak will relocate its current operations to that building.
