Unemployment Applications Fall Last Week

Washington, DC, June 19, 2014 -- Initial applications for unemployment benefits declined by 6,000 last week to 312,000, according to the Labor Department.

The number was near pre-recession lows.

Economists were expecting 313,000 applications.
