Producer Prices Rise in June

Washington, DC, July 12, 2013 -- The Producer Price Index rose 0.8% in June from the previous month, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Prices are up 2.5% from a year before, slightly less than the largest yearly rise since March 2012 of 2.8%.

Excluding food and energy, prices are rose by 0.2% last month. Food and energy prices gave a significant boost to price increases in June, with gasoline prices up 2.9%.
