Personal Spending, Income Both Rise in March

Washington, DC, April 29, 2013 -- Personal income and spending both rose 0.2% in March, according to the Commerce Department.

Personal income grew $30.9 billion while expenditures increased $21.0 billion, the latter mostly due to higher utility costs.

In February, personal income increased $151.2 billion, or 1.1%, and spending increased $81.6 billion, or 0.7%.
