Stoughton, MA, Aug. 8, 2014 -- Purline flooring by Mats Inc. has been named a finalist in the U.S. Green Building Council’s Best of Building Awards 2014 in two categories: Best Product for Sustainable Construction Materials and Most Innovative New Product of the Year.
In its inaugural year, the Best of Building Awards seeks to honor the best sustainable products and projects and those undertaking the green building initiative.
The nominees were submitted by USGBC members through July 22, and the winners will be decided from the group of finalists that received the most nominations during the open nomination period. Voting for all USGBC Best of Building Awards will be available to USGBC members from through Aug. 22.
The company said that Purline is the first botanol, plant-based flooring product on the market, produced from nearly 90% renewable and natural raw materials including rapaseed, castor oil and the natural filler material chalk.
