Long-time Tacoma Flooring Retailer Dies

Lakewood, WA, Feb. 14, 2014 -- Robert D. Paulson, 91, of Lakewood, a long time flooring retailer in the Puget Sound area, died Feb. 7.

Paulson entered the Army Air Core in 1943 as a navigator, but before being transferred overseas, the war ended and he returned home to his father’s flooring store in Portland.

Finally, in the late 40’s he decided it was best to take over the flooring stores in Tacoma, as the second generation family business owner. He established G.W. Paulson Company as the premier floor covering store in the Puget Sound area.
