New York, NY, Sept. 20, 2012 -- The index of leading economic indicators fell 0.1% in August after rising 0.5% in July, according to the Conference Board.
The index is designed to predict future economic activity.
The weakness came from declines in manufacturing orders, consumer confidence and average weekly manufacturing hours.
