Initial Jobless Claims Fall Sharply

Washington, DC, Dec. 13, 2012 -- Initial claims for unemployment benefits declined more than forecast last week to the lowest level since early October, according to the Labor Department.

Initial claims fell by 29,000 to 343,000 in the week ended Dec. 8. Economists forecast 369,000 claims.
