House Prices Continue To Climb

Washington, DC, Aug. 22, 2013 -- June house prices rose 7.7% over the past year and 0.7% from May, the Federal Housing Finance Agency said.

Price increases are drawing more sellers.

Higher mortgage rates may be encouraging buyers to find homes before borrowing costs rise further.

The FHFA index measures transactions for single-family properties financed with mortgages owned or securitized by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
