Fresno, CA, Nov. 16, 2012 -- The owners of Abbey Design and Flooring Center in Fresno have filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, according to a local ABC news affiliate.
The action comes after numerous people say they were cheated by the business. The business closed two weeks ago without explanation, according to the report.
The paperwork shows that more than 200 people and businesses are owed money.
The filing lists 205 creditors. The documents show owners Gary and Glennyce Cropper owe more than half a million dollars in state and federal taxes as far back as 2006.
According to court papers, liabilities total nearly $3.5 million, while assets total about $500,000.
