Design Ovations - June 2012

My design approach begins with completely understanding my client’s vision, design goals and lines of business. Whether a corporate office, retail store or public facility, the design solution needs to reflect the client’s brand and enhance their goals. My designs for their project reflect a blend of classic simplicity melded with modern expression. I find that all interior elements need to meld together with the floor, which often serves as the foundation—both literally and metaphorically. The flooring solution sets the tone and establishes a sense of place. It also ties together not only the architecture of the space but also the important design elements, such as specialty wall treatments, artful lighting and furnishings. At EHS Design, we realize how flooring can emotionally affect and impact a space, and we push our designers to search out new applications and innovations to use for this building canvas.
