Carpetright Reports Stronger Fourth Quarter Sales

London, England, April 25, 2013 -- Floorcovering firm Carpetright said like-for-like sales rose 5.6% in its fourth quarter despite strong competition and cold weather.

The results come after the company, which has 477 stores, earlier this year revealed like-for-like sales were 3.2% higher in the UK.

Carpetright, the biggest seller of carpets and floorcoverings in Britain, saw sales fall 10.2% in the rest of Europe, mostly due to "deteriorating economic conditions" in the Netherlands.
