Business Economists See Growth Picking Up

Washington, DC, March 24, 2013 -- Business economists see the economy picking up this year after a slow start caused by harsh winter weather.

A survey of 48 economists surveyed by the National Association for Business Economics shows that they expect first-quarter growth at an annual rate of 1.9%, but growth could be higher than 3% by the end of the year.

Their forecast for average U.S. economic growth of 2.8% this year is up from their December prediction of 2.5% as they forecast higher consumer spending.
