Berry, AL, Sept. 9, 2010--Berry Wood Products, a custom finishing plant for hardwood flooring located in Berry, Alabama, closed its doors on September 3.
Berry operated a 60,000 square foot plant that had the capacity to finish over 12 million feet of hardwood annually. In addition to private labeling, the company marketed its own line of prefinished flooring.
Opened in the year 2000, the business was funded by public and local government grants to help provide economic stimulus for rural Alabama. The town of Berry, located in the northeastern part of the state, has roughly 1200 residents. The company was one of four industries in the town.
Berry Wood Products is owned by Bobby and Lisa Porter. The pair has a combined total of over 50 years experience in hardwood manufacturing.
