Beaulieu Marks 35th Anniversary

Dalton, GA, June 3, 2013 -– On the heels of unveiling a new corporate identity and new CEO Karel Vercruyssen, along with the pending retirement of Ralph Boe, Beaulieu America announced another milestone: its 35th anniversary as a company.

Beaulieu began as a small rug weaving business in Dalton, Georgia in 1978 and grew into a true American success story as one of the top floor covering producers in the world.

“As a company and an industry, we’ve seen a lot and, thanks to the contributions of thousands of hardworking and dedicated Beaulieu associates, we’ve achieved a lot,” said Carl Bouckaert, one of Beaulieu America’s founders.

“Over the last 35 years, we’ve led the carpet industry in the development of some pretty exciting ideas,” said retiring CEO Ralph Boe. “There are over a dozen firsts Beaulieu can claim that have not only improved the business of carpet, but the quality of life in the American home.”

Among the innovations Beaulieu America lists are being the first carpet manufacturer to extrude its own olefin fiber, the first to make solution dyed nylon fiber, and the first to produce its own primary and secondary backing.
