Surfaces 2006 Reports 90% of Space Contracted

Dallas, TX, July 21--Surfaces has set another record as more companies participated in the 2006 Space Draw than ever before. Almost 90% of the show floor is already contracted by an estimated 640 companies. This is a 5% increase in participation over 2005. "Exhibitors who participated in Surfaces 2005 told us they had an incredible show," says Michelle Troop, Senior Show Director, Surfaces. "The commitment to the 2006 event shows they are ready for another stellar show. We only hope we will have enough room for every company that wants to exhibit this year." In addition to the record number of companies committed to exhibiting at Surfaces 2006, approximately 6% more space was assigned this year than during the 2005 Space Draw. Plus, companies that participated in last year’s Space Draw increased their overall space by more than 6% this year. "Anderson Hardwood Floors has seen our sales at Surfaces more than double over the past two years," says John Woolsey, vice president marketing, Anderson Hardwood Floors. "We are doubling our space requirements again at Surfaces 2006." Each year, more and more companies that have never exhibited at Surfaces are realizing the show’s importance in the floor covering industry. This year, there is a 12% increase in the number of new companies involved so far. "I am excited to take part in the Surfaces show," says Andy Oei, Tropical Flooring, a first-time exhibitor at Surfaces. "My company has a good presence in Southern California, but I decided I wanted to take my business nationwide. After several years of attending Surfaces, I am confident the show can take my company to the national level." International participation in Surfaces is also on the rise. Show Management anticipates an increase in international companies at Surfaces 2006, especially from Eastern Europe and Latin America. Companies from the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, Italy, Spain, Mexico and Asia continue to make their plans every year to be part of the industry’s main event. Surfaces 2006 will once again feature the Window/Wall Coverings Pavilion. As more retailers are adding this new profit center to their businesses, window and wall coverings manufacturers see the value in participating in this area of the show. Several new companies have already committed to space in the pavilion. More than 40,000 retailers, builders, architects, designers, distributors and installers from around the world will be at Surfaces 2006 to see the latest floor covering products, services and technology from over 1,000 exhibiting companies.
