November Retail Sales Rose 3.8% YOY

Washington, DC, December 14, 2016—Advance estimates of U.S. retail and food services sales for November were $465.5 billion, an increase of 0.1% from the previous month, and 3.8% above November 2015, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Total sales for the September 2016 through November 2016 period were up 3.7% from the same period a year ago. The September 2016 to October 2016 percent change was revised from up 0.8% to up 0.6%.

Retail trade sales were virtually unchanged from October 2016, and up 3.6% from last year. Nonstore retailers were up 11.9% from November 2015, while health and personal care stores retailers were up 6.2% from last year.
