National Floorcovering Alliance Fall Meeting Held in San Diego

San Diego, CA, October 6, 2015—The National Floorcovering Alliance (NFA) Fall Meeting was held last week at Del Coronado Hotel in San Diego, California.

The event attracted a record 250 guests.

Speakers were Carole Cross of Mobile Marketing; Don Maier, CEO with Armstrong Floor Products; and Jeff King, attorney with World Floor Covering Association, who spoke about the Department of Labor’s new focus on subcontractor relationships.

Board elections were also held at the meeting. Ian Newton of Flooring 101 in Oxward, California; Ryan Bechtold of Contract Furnishings Mart in Tigard, Oregon; and Zak Akin of Akin Brothers Flooring in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma were added to the board, while Jay McDonnell of Custom Carpet Centers in Orchard Park, New York and Steve Brannen of Carpet King in Minneapolis, Minnesota are retiring. The new appointments will take effect in January 2016.

The NFA, founded in 1991, is a buying group of 42 carpet and flooring dealers. To be eligible for membership, dealers must gross at least $10 million annually.
