Karastan's Shag Featured in Oscars Greenroom

Dalton, GA, March 3, 2009—While the 81st Academy Awards took place on stage, the most popular place backstage is Architectural Digest’s Greenroom—a luxurious area where stars can relax while they wait to go onstage.

Karastan carpet was selected for the floor of this year’s Greenroom.

This was the 7th consecutive year that Architectural Digest presented the backstage lounge. Steven Shadley designed the room and decided to give the room a “Seventies Modern” design that was inspired by the Hollywood film sets of the period.

“One of the key elements needed for Shadley’s 1970 décor was a shag rug,” explains Connie Berry, director of marketing for Karastan. Karastan's new Mama Mia shag in Crystaline, bound to fit the space, was chosen.

Karastan’s Mama Mia, along with all the elements of the Architectural Digest Greenroom will be featured in the June issue of the magazine.
