Carolina Tile Completes Move to Orangeburg, SC

Orangeburg, S.C., December 21--Full-service tile and natural stone retailer Carolina Tile celebrated its arrival in Orangeburg with a ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony Saturday, Dec. 18, according to the Orangeburg Times Democrat. The 4,000-square-foot facility is located at 191 Carolina Regional Park near Exit 145A and U.S. Highway 601 off Interstate 26. The store has about 1,000 square feet of showroom space. Carolina Tile offers a range of tile products for commercial and residential markets. Tile types include ceramic, porcelain, quarry, marble, slate, granite, mosaic, swimming pool and spa tile, glass and metal tile. Tile brands range from Daltile, Laufen, Crossville, American Olean, American Marazzi. The store houses stones from 22 different countries. Jevon Priester, Carolina Tile president and owner, touted the store's tile selection as "good as anywhere in the state" and prices as "comparable" to larger home improvement retailers such as Lowe's and Home Depot. "We have the tile custom you are looking for," he said. "We have (tiles) in the low end and high end of the budget. We have traditional-type tile and contemporary. We have the newest designs right here in Orangeburg." Priester cited the growing trends in home remodeling and a paucity of tile product selection in many retail outlets as reasons for opening in Orangeburg. Beyond tile and granite, Carolina Tile also has brick pavers, glass blocks and wood products. In addition, the store provides needed equipment and services for installation such as grout, thinsets, adhesives, epoxies, water-proofing membranes, and backer boards to name a few. Individuals may choose to do it themselves or the store will work with local contractors and installers in the area for services. Targeted buyers are home builders, contractors, interior designers, Realtors, homeowners, architects and tile installers. Carolina Tile, which employs three, arrived to the CRP in July of this year after a 15-year presence in Columbia primarily as a tile installation company.
