Surfaces Preview: New carpet and hard surface flooring for 2015

For those in the flooring industry, Surfaces is the heart of Las Vegas’ Design and Construction Week, which features seven expos during the week of January 19. Surfaces, which is part of The International Surface Event, will be held from January 20 to 23 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, alongside TileExpo and StonExpo Marmomacc Americas.

Design and Construction Week also includes the NAHB International Builders’ Show, the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show and the International Window Coverings Expo, all at the Las Vegas Convention Center, January 20 to 22. And the Las Vegas Market, held at the World Market Center, January 18 to 22, offers a very different experience, with manufacturers, including area rug mills, exhibiting their products in permanent showrooms.

In addition to the exhibits on the show floor itself, Surfaces offers a comprehensive educational program and a variety of special events. For the fifth year in a row, Floor Focus is sponsoring Designer Day and the Trends Hub. Victoria Redshaw of Scarlet Opus will offer a full day program on Thursday, January 22 that includes a preview of the color and design trends for 2015; an offsite tour of The New American Home 2015, designed by Blue Heron; a group lunch at Panevino; a trend tour of the show floor in the afternoon; and a talk on stone trends.

The interactive Trends Hub will offer a preview of the hottest products, colors and textures for 2015, along with other trend information. Other venues of interest on the show floor include the Social Media Lounge, the Cleaning and Restoration Pavilion, Artisan Avenue, Tool Alley, Product Marketplace, the Wools of New Zealand booth, the NWFA Hardwood Flooring Pavilion and international pavilions from Italy, China, India, Mexico, Pakistan and Turkey.

Emerging Professionals, also sponsored by Floor Focus, is a new event that will take place at 5:30 on Wednesday, January 21 at the Border Grill adjacent to the convention center, to recognize Floor Focus’ 25 Future Leaders Under 40 and to welcome the larger community of up and coming flooring professionals.
