Weyerhaeuser Acquiring Plum Creek Timber for $8.44 Billion

Federal Way, WA, November 13, 2015—Weyerhaeuser will pay $8.44 billion to acquire Plum Creek Timber.

The combined company, with an equity value estimated at $23 billion, will benefit from the growing demand for lumber and wood products used inside homes.

The new entity, which merges the largest owners of timberland in the U.S., will manage more than 13 million acres of timberland across 19 states.
