USGBC Events Team Gets Sustainability Certification

Washington, DC, June 25, 2014 -- The U.S. Green Building Council said that its Conference and Events team has earned certification under ISO 20121: 2012, a new standard signifying excellence in sustainable event planning and management.

“As the leading voice in the movement toward a sustainable built environment, USGBC has a responsibility to set a strong example for the meetings and events industry in planning and running the most sustainable events possible,” said Kate Hurst, director, Greenbuild Conference and Events, USGBC.

The USGBC Conference and Events department is responsible for more than 100 events per year, including the Hanley Wood-owned and -operated Greenbuild International Conference and Expo.
