Florence, AL, Dec. 24, 2012 -- The City of Florence, Alabama recognized Centiva president and founder Thomas Trissl with two honors last week.
Former Mayor Bobby Irons and current Mayor Mickey Haddock surprised Trissl with an honorary citizenship and a key to the city.
Trissl moved from Germany in 1996 and founded Centiva in Florence.
Irons said that he and Trissl built a strong working relationship over the years and that Trissl had many great ideas for the community, particularly in the area of sustainability.
Centiva has partnered with the city on many environmental initiatives including recycling, Earth Week education programs, and a recent green welcome sign project.
