Third Quarter GDP Growth Revised Higher

Washington, DC, Nov. 24, 2014 -- Economic growth for the third quarter was revised higher than initial estimates.

The Commerce Department said third quarter gross domestic product grew 3.9%, up from the first estimate of 3.5%.

Growth in the past two quarters represents the best six-month stretch since late 2003. GDP grew at a 4.6% pace in the second quarter.

Consumer spending was stronger than previously estimated.
